The St Albans Museum and Gallery have commissioned St Albans based black led organisations, Leeannas Wish & Active Lifestyles, to capture and share stories from the African Caribbean community in St Albans and District. The collection includes oral histories, digital images and videos. The information and objects may also be used as the preparation phase to Becoming Us: African Caribbean St Albans exhibition in 2024. The main themes uniting the exhibition & events are: • Home Country • Windrush and Arrival • Welcome conditions • Housing • Working lives (NHS, factories, home working) • Overcoming adversity (racism, prejudice etc. • African Caribbean Culture (food, music, clothing etc.) • Celebrating Achievements website: https://www.historypin.org/en/becoming-us-african-caribbean-st-albans
